ROANOKE, VA- Bryn Mawr volleyball opened its 2025 campaign with a win and a loss. The Owls swept Wesleyan (GA) 3-0, on Saturday morning at the Hollins University Tri-Match. In the afternoon, Bryn Mawr dropped a four-set battle to Hollins, 3-1.

Highlights against Wesleyan (GA):

• To start the match, the Owls raced out to an early lead behind strong serving from Elise Perry and Amanda Hughes. Bryn Mawr's block set the tone, and a pair of late aces from Perry capped a dominant 25-12, win. Perry powered the Owls on both sides of the net, posting a team-high six kills while adding eight blocks and six service aces for 17 total points.
• In the final set, Hughes opened with back-to-back aces, and Emma Loller added key kills to keep Bryn Mawr in front. The Wolves of Wesleyan made a late push, but a Perry block and kill sealed the 25-20 sweep.
• Throughout the match, Loller chipped in seven kills, three aces, and five block assists. Senior setter Anna Dravk ran the offense with 14 assists and added four digs. Hughes chipped in two kills, five service aces and four digs in her first collegiate appearance.
• As a team, Bryn Mawr's serving proved decisive throughout the match, with the Owls collecting 16 service aces compared to Wesleyan's 14. Defensively, the Owls secured 30 digs and 12 total team blocks.

Highlights against Hollins University:

• After dropping the opening frame 25-19, Bryn Mawr responded in set two with its sharpest play of the match. Loller tallied three early kills, and sophomore Adelaide Grace and Perry combined for a block to spark the Owls. Hughes added an ace as Bryn Mawr hit .292 in the frame on the way to win, 25-18.
• Loller led Bryn Mawr with 10 kills and six aces, while Perry added five kills and two aces.
• Dravk handed out 10 assists and picked up six digs, while first-year libero Asher Thornton anchored the defense with 12 digs. Tula Reihman stood strong at the net with six blocks.
• In the final set, the Owls struggled to find their rhythm and ultimately dropped the set, 25-12.
