Bryn Mawr Opens 2025 Season with Shutout Victory

DOYLESTOWN, PA – The Bryn Mawr soccer program started their 2025 campaign in strong fashion with a 1–0 road win over Delaware Valley on Friday afternoon at Robert A. Lipinski Field. A first-half goal from junior defender Michaela Gwozdz proved to be the difference, while the Owls' back line and first-year goalkeeper Lily Blackman held firm to secure a clean sheet.

Highlights:
  • Michaela Gwozdz scored the lone goal of the match at the 36:22 mark, finishing off a sequence that began with a Bryn Mawr corner. Her strike not only gave the Owls the lead but also stood as the game-winner.
  • Bryn Mawr peppered the Delaware Valley goal with 11 shots before halftime, including multiple efforts from Daniela Dosen and Rece Anton, who both tested the woodwork.
  • Delaware Valley managed just four shots in total, with two on target. Blackman came up with key saves in the 58th and 84th minutes to preserve the Owls' lead.
  • Anton led all players with four shots, while Dosen added three of her own. Bryn Mawr finished with a 13–4 advantage in shots and an 8–2 edge in shots on goal.
  • Blackman recorded two saves to earn her first clean sheet of the year, supported by strong performances across the back line from Alexandra Morales, Lanie Thompson, and Jess Johnson.
