CHESTERTOWN, MD - The Bryn Mawr rowing team opened their 2025 spring season on the Chester River on Saturday at the Washington College Invitational Regatta. Women's teams in attendance included fellow MARC conference members Franklin and Marshall, Washington College, St. Mary's College, and Stockton University. Wellesley College, a NEWMAC Conference member, also raced on the day. Bryn Mawr competed in the Women's Varsity Eight, the Women's Second Varsity Eight, and the Women's Third Varsity Eight events. In the Women's Varsity and Second Varsity events, both crews raced teams in the morning and afternoon sessions, completing a total of two 2000m races.
Highlights:
- In the morning racing events, the Women's Varsity Eight placed 2nd in their race, finishing 14 seconds behind national title holders Wellesley College, and ahead of fellow conference member Franklin and Marshall College.
- The Women's Second Varsity Eight placed 2nd as well, with a time of 6:37.9. Bryn Mawr finished behind Wellesley, and ahead of fellow conference member Stockton.
- In the Women's Third Varsity Eight, Bryn Mawr placed 3rd, with a time of 6:48.2, finishing behind Wellesley's A and B boat in the category.
- In the afternoon, Bryn Mawr's Varsity Eight placed 1st in their heat, with a time of 6:33.9, finishing ahead of Franklin and Marshall and Washington College.
- The Second Varsity Eight placed 2nd behind conference member St. Mary's, and ahead of Washington College.
