BRYN MAWR, PA – The Bryn Mawr Owls welcomed the Shorewomen of Washington College for a Centennial Conference matchup at the Class of 1958 Gymnasium earlier Saturday. Despite some bright moments, the Owls did not manage to keep pace with Washington College's offense, falling by a final score of 60-34.
Highlights:
- Bryn Mawr came out with energy, trading baskets early and keeping the game close. Jessica Smith opened the scoring, and the Owls' defense made key stops to keep Washington College within reach, ending the quarter down just 10-8.
- The Owls fought to stay in the game throughout the second quarter, with Hannah Binder and Kayla Spencer knocking down shots to keep the offense going. Despite Washington College's strong inside play, Bryn Mawr stayed aggressive and entered halftime trailing 27-15.
- Bryn Mawr's offense found some rhythm in the third, as Michelle Jiang and Binder stepped up with key baskets. The Owls showed their defensive toughness, forcing turnovers and contesting shots, but Washington College maintained their lead heading into the final frame.
- The Owls continued to battle until the final buzzer, with their bench providing valuable contributions. Though Washington College secured the win, Bryn Mawr's effort and teamwork never wavered, and they will look to build on this performance in their upcoming games.
