LANCASTER, PA — The Bryn Mawr swim team competed in the second day of the Franklin & Marshall Invite on Saturday, with
Jane Farrell and
Pearl Shelton advancing to the finals in their respective individual events. The 800-yard freestyle relay team, featuring
Adrianna Porter Meachem,
Shoshana Peck,
Mina Doebele, and
Lexi Mireider also qualified for the evening finals.
Morning Session Highlights:
- Shelton began the day for the Owls in the 400-yard individual medley. Her time of 4:49.73 earned her a spot in the Top-10 Times for Bryn Mawr and also earned her 20th place to advance to the finals.
- Farrell posted a time of 59.04 in the 100-yard butterfly preliminaries, placing 18th.
- Chloe Amos broke into the Bryn Mawr Top-10 Times in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.63 to finish in 36th place. Also competing in the event were Kayla Bass, Dugan Dugan, and Mireider. Mireider's time of 1:13.17 was a personal best.
- The 800-yard freestyle relay team, consisting of Meachem, Peck, Doebele, and Mireider (9:19.41), achieved an 11th-place finish to round out the morning session for Bryn Mawr.
Evening Session Highlights:
- Farrell (59.49) placed 22nd in the 100-yard butterfly, contributing to the team's tally.
- Porter Meachem, Peck, Doebele, and Mireider (9:19.41) once again teamed up in the 800-yard freestyle relay to secure 19th place.
- Amos, Samantha Ings, Farrell, and Maya Madden (1:57.35) combined efforts in the 200-yard medley relay to take 23rd place. Seconds behind were fellow Owls Bass, Dalia Ibrahim, Shelby Jackson, and Shelton (2:02.57) who finished in 24th place to also tally points for Bryn Mawr.
