BALTIMORE, MD- The Bryn Mawr soccer team battled nationally ranked #22 Johns Hopkins on Saturday afternoon, showing resilience and discipline in a 5-0 road setback at Homewood Field.
Highlights:
- The Blue Jays opened the scoring midway through the first half and added another goal before the break, but the Owls' backline stayed composed against one of the most potent offenses in the nation. Defenders, Hailey Ferrier, Lanie Thompson, and Alexandra Gibson anchored the defensive effort, combining with sophomore Isie Poff to limit Hopkins' quality looks despite consistent attacking pressure.
- First-year goalkeeper Lily Blackman made several key stops and managed the backline effectively through 65 minutes of play, while sophomore Maeve Slemko came in to finish the match and turned away another Blue Jay attempt.
- Bryn Mawr continued to compete across the midfield as Ellie Kotuby, Ciara Lalor, and Rece Anton provided valuable minutes in transition and helped the Owls push play up field in the second half.
