Game Recap: Soccer |

Bryn Mawr Draws at Cedar Crest

ALLENTOWN, PA – The Bryn Mawr soccer team made history at Cedar Crest College earlier Saturday. The Owls held a 30-1 advantage in shots, but Cedar Crest's goalkeeper was resilient to end the game in a tie, 0-0. The game marks the fourth time in program history that the Owls have not conceded a goal in their first three games of a season. The previous teams to accomplish this feat played in 2009, 2004 and 1991.

Highlights:

  • Sophomore midfielder Rece Anton led the Owls with seven shots, five of which were on goal. At 8:01 in the first half, Anton found an opening for an Owl goal, but it was saved by the Falcon's goalkeeper Bella Bozen.

  • Anton returned to the pitch twice more before the end of the half with two more shots on goal, but the Falcon's defense held steady and kept the game scoreless to enter half time.

  • In the second half, six different Owls recorded shots on goal, but the Falcon goalkeeper was relentless.

  • With the tie, Bryn Mawr moves to 1-0-2 while Cedar Crest is 0-1-1.
