GLASSBORO, N.J.- Bryn Mawr field hockey made program history against #25 Rowan University Wednesday evening, winning their fifth consecutive game against a ranked opponent this season. The Owls have already flipped last season's record of 1-4 against nationally ranked opponents to 5-1 in the 2024 season. Bryn Mawr faced a tough nosed Professors' squad who gave the Owl's a non-conference battle under the lights. Bryn Mawr held off a second-half push from the Professors and walked away with a 2-1 win.

From the start, the Owls were on the attack. They earned a penalty corner at 3:18 and put pressure on Rowan's defense. Bryn Mawr scored the first goal of the game at 7:12 when senior captain Reba Ervin put the ball between the posts. In their past three wins, the Owls have scored first and within the first 10 minutes of game play.

After Rowan went scoreless in half one, the Professors came out in the second half on the offensive. Rowan's frontline pressured the Owl's defense and at 38:41 Rowan scored its first and only goal of the game. Seven of Rowan's 10 shots occurred in the second half, but the Owl's locked down defensively. Bryn Mawr's backline of Maggie Barilla, Sophie Chung, Annick van Blerkom, Zoe Woon and goalie Charlene Basque staved off the offensive.
