BRYN MAWR, PA – The Bryn Mawr tennis team won their first two matches of the fall 2024 season earlier Saturday as they welcomed University of Scranton and Marywood University to campus for matches at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM respectively. The Owls won their morning match, 5-2 and their afternoon match, 7-0.
Division III tennis changed their scoring format to replicate Division I and II, in which seven team points are recorded instead of nine. The team that wins two of the three doubles matches receives one dual match point. Doubles matches are played to six games instead of an eight game pro-set. Each singles match is worth one point. Four or more points are required to win the dual match.

- The Owls swept the Royals of Scranton in doubles with straight wins. Junior captain Sophie Fenster and senior doubles partner Fernanda Hurtado Mariscal returned to the courts this season with a 6-0 win. Lowrey West and Kelli Eng paired at No. 2 doubles for a 6-2 win while first-years Carina Roberts and Claire Emanuel collected their first collegiate win at No. 3 doubles, 6-3.
- At singles, four Owls tallied wins in straight sets. Captain Fenster refused to drop a single game in the first set at the top spot and won her match, 6-0, 6-2. Fellow junior Eng also recorded a win at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-2.
