Game Recap: Soccer |

Owls Command Scoreboard, 8-0

BRYN MAWR, PA.- On Wednesday afternoon Bryn Mawr soccer dominated on Applebee field, winning 8-0 against the visiting Gators of Notre Dame of Maryland. The game saw four different Owls put the ball in the back of the net in the shut-out win.

Highlights:

  • The Owls fired on all cylinders right at kick-off. At minute 5:15, Rece Anton started the scoring frenzy for Bryn Mawr. Just eight minutes later, Anton recorded the second goal of the match with a through ball from captain Daniela Dosen. Anton scored the last goal of the game to finish with three on the day.

  • After Anton's two goals, Lucia Englehardt got in on the action and recorded their first career goal as an Owl. Two minutes after career goal number one, Englehardt earned goal number two of their career. They took seven shots and found the back of the net for three goals in the game.

  • Senior captain Sarah Lohrey and sophomore Ciara Grimes contributed to the scoreboard, as each earned a goal. Lohrey recorded her second on the season and Grimes recorded her first.

  • Captain Dosen shared the ball effectively on the pitch and earned an assist on a goal by Anton and Englehardt respectively.

  • The Owls outshot the Gators, but goalkeeper Leah Hasberry for Notre Dame of Maryland did her best to keep Bryn Mawr off the board, tallying 24 saves throughout the game.

Bryn Mawr soccer turns their attention to Saturday's game against Franklin and Marshall in Lancaster, PA. at 3:00 PM.
