CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Bryn Mawr tennis team traveled to Washington College earlier Saturday to compete in their first Centennial Conference match of the season. Two Owls won both of their matches, but the Shorewomen pulled ahead to clinch a 5-4 win.

Highlights:

• The No. 1 doubles team of Sophie Fenster and Fernanda Hurtado Mariscal won the Owls first match of the day, 8-6. However, Washington College won the next two doubles matches to take a one match lead to enter singles.
• Due to a withdraw, Kelly Cole won her match at No. 6 singles followed by Hurtado Marsical's second win of the day at No. 5 singles (6-1, 6-2) to help pull the Owls ahead 3-2.
• Fenster joined her doubles partner with two wins on the day, and the Owls fourth of the day, for a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles.
• Washington College won at No. 2, 3, and 4 singles to come back and win the match 5-4.

The Owls will compete next Tuesday at home for a 4pm match against non-conference Albright.
