BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr lacrosse team played their first game back from spring break earlier Tuesday at Bryn Athyn. Despite outscoring the Lions in the third quarter 4-2, Bryn Athyn maintained their lead for an eventual win, 18-7.

Highlights:

• Captain Maddie Sullivan led the Owls with three goals while first-year Ilona Bender recorded two assists and Erica James played a full 60 minutes in goal to record six saves.
• The Lions took an early lead with five goals in the opening 12 minutes until senior Margaux Kelly scored the Owls' first goal in a man up scenario with an assist by Bender.
• Sullivan scored the Owls' lone goal of the second quarter in the remaining minute of the half, but the Lions took a 10-point lead to enter halftime.
• Bryn Mawr had their strongest quarter in the third to outscore Bryn Athyn, 4-2.
• At 4:13 in the third quarter, Bender recorded her first career goal to minimize the Lions' lead to 13-6.

The Owls will begin their Centennial Conference play this Saturday for a home game against McDaniel at 12pm.
