COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr basketball team travelled to Ursinus earlier Thursday evening to compete in the first of three straight away games before finishing off the season at home against Gettysburg. Trailing at halftime, the Owls changed course in the second half to outscore the Bears in the third quarter. Yet, Ursinus managed to hold the lead for a 67-45 win.
Highlights:
- Jessica Smith led the Owls with 20 points while Ursinus was led by Chinwe Irondi with 24 points.
- Hannah Mack scored 12 points against the Bears, a career-high against a Centennial Conference opponent.
- Daphne Bracker-Sturm also recorded a career-high for the second game in a row with 14 rebounds.
- Ursinus led 35-18 in the first half, but Bryn Mawr turned the game on its head in the third quarter to outscore the Bears 23-18 and record their highest scoring quarter in a Conference game this season.
- Bryn Mawr's performance tonight against Ursinus proved to be their best against the Bears since 2020 in which the Owls scored 47 points.
The Owls will travel to Johns Hopkins this Saturday for an early afternoon game in Baltimore, Md.
