BALTIMORE, Md. – The Bryn Mawr basketball team traveled to #13 Johns Hopkins earlier Saturday to compete in their second away game of the week. The Owls put up a valiant battle, but the Blue Jays maintained the lead throughout all four quarters, 96-37, and extended their Centennial Conference record to 17-1 on the season.
Highlights:
- Jessica Smith led the Owls with 14 points while the Blue Jays were led by Layla Henderson with 15 points.
- Johns Hopkins had a strong start to gain a 16-point lead after the first 10 minutes of the game with baskets from five different players.
- Smith and Cameron Richter added six points to Bryn Mawr's scoreboard in the second, but the Blue Jays extended their lead to 48-16 at halftime.
- Bryn Mawr scored two 3-pointers in the third quarter. After three minutes at a stunted scoreboard for the Owls, Kris Pasia flipped the switch with a 3-pointer quickly followed by a 3-pointer for Hannah Mack.
- Daphne Bracker-Sturm scored three of the Owls' four baskets in the fourth quarter.
Bryn Mawr will travel to Allentown, Pa. on Tuesday to play their final away game of the season against Muhlenberg.
