Owls Fall Short Despite Strong Second Quarter

BRYN MAWR, Pa. –  The Bryn Mawr Owls welcomed the Shorewomen of Washington College for a late-night matchup in the Class of 1958 Gymnasium. The Owls outscored the Shorewomen in the second quarter 17-15 but fell short in the second half. Washington College took home the win, 62-28.

Highlights:
  • The Owls were led by Jessica Smith with 12 points, her ninth straight game as Bryn Mawr's top point getter. Washington College was led by Serena Punta with 16 points.
  • Bryn Mawr shined in the second quarter, scoring five 3-pointers to outscore the Shorewomen, 17-15. Smith and Michelle Jiang tag teamed a series of two 3-pointers apiece while Kris Pasia finished the half with her own 3-pointer with 21 seconds remaining. With these baskets, Jiang tallied her 20th 3-pointer in her first season with the Owls.
  • Daphne Bracker-Sturm grabbed 11 rebounds throughout the game, setting a new career record.
  • Bryn Mawr's Hannah Mack led the Owls with three steals.
The Owls will be on the road for their next three competitions and will be traveling to Ursinus College on Thursday for a 7:30pm tipoff.
