Owls Open 2024 Season Against Neumann

BRNY MAWR, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr Lacrosse team welcomed the Knights of Neumann to the newly resurfaced Applebee Field earlier Saturday afternoon for the Owls' first game of the 2024 season. Neumann proved a stronger team than in the past two matchups and recorded a 17-6 win over Bryn Mawr.

Highlights:
  • Head Coach Shannon Algeo debuted her coaching career at Bryn Mawr College assisted by John Geary and Ally Joly.
  • The Owls were led by senior captain #16 Camille Franklin with three goals while the Knights were led by Lindsey Fagan with five goals.
  • Four Owls recorded goals in the first game of the season against Neumann. Franklin brought in three goals in the first half, while #23 Maddie Sullivan, #9 Haley Halvorson, and #1 Margot Becker each tallied a goal of their own.
  • Two of Bryn Mawr's first-years earned a shot in their first game as an Owl. #13 Ilona Bender recorded a wide shot in the opening minutes of the game quickly followed by a #30 Cailey Brousseau blocked shot. Bender would go on to tally an assist on Becker's goal in the third quarter.
  • In goal, first-year #31 Mia Rey and sophomore #32 Erica James each played 30 minutes and brought in five and three saves respectively.
The Owls will return on Wednesday for their second home game of the season as they welcome DeSales to Applebee Field.
