BRONXVILLE, N.Y.- Bryn Mawr basketball tipped off their season with an impressive win on Saturday night in Bronxville N.Y. against the Gryphons of Sarah Lawrence College.  

Bryn Mawr started on the attack and outscored the Gryphons, 23-11. Sarah Lawrence made a run coming out of the half to get within striking distance, however Bryn Mawr responded in the fourth quarter and won, 73-57. 

Highlights: 

• Jessica Smith went on a scoring spree for the Owls and earned a career-high 30 points, 13 rebounds, and four steals in her 2024-2025 season debut. 

• Senior captains Hannah Binder and Smith tallied impressive stat lines during the match-up, each earning a double-double. The pair combined for 24 out of Bryn Mawr's 44 rebounds of the game. 

• First-year Kayla Spencer made her college debut against Sarah Lawrence, chipping in two steals for the Owls.  

• Senior captain Sena Kaper-Dale added to the team's impressive 44 rebounds with six of her own. 

• Bryn Mawr found success behind the arc in Saturday night's game as they shot 36.8% from the three-point line and cashed in 7 of 19.  

• As successful as the Owls were from outside the three-point line, they pounded the paint against Sarah Lawrence. Bryn Mawr scored 40 points in the paint, nine of which came from sophomore Daphne Bracker-Sturm.
