COLLEGEVILLE, PA – The Bryn Mawr volleyball team traveled to Ursinus College earlier Thursday evening for their second to last match of the 2024 season. The Owls staved off three match points before the Bears took home the win, 3-0.
Highlights:
- Adelaide Grace tallied four kills in the opening set, but the Bears of Ursinus led the way with a 12-5 lead to start the match. Kills by Grace and Joelle Wise held the Bears off to close the scoreboard, 13-10. Ursinus's offense took advantage of a handful of kills and Bryn Mawr errors to regain a solid lead and clinch the set, 25-19.
- Bryn Mawr found their footing in the second set with an early 5-2 lead after service aces by Grace and Elise Perry. The Bears then used a 5-0 run to gain the lead and pull ahead by three points. The Owls took advantage of two-straight Ursinus errors and a service ace by Zara Kepler to retie the match, 10-10. Bryn Mawr brought in three more rallies, but the Bears maintained a lead for the remainder of the set, 25-13.
- Ursinus quickly jumped on the lead with six unanswered points to take an 8-2 lead in the final stanza. Loller tallied three kills and the Owls staved off three match points, but the Bears never let up the lead, 25-13.
