WESTMINSTER, MD – The Bryn Mawr volleyball team traveled to McDaniel College Saturday for the Owls' final match of the 2024 season. The Owls gave it their all in a final push for a win in conference play with leads in the opening two sets, but the Green Terror managed to edge out each set and won the match, 3-0.
Emma Loller led the Owls with 12 kills and a .429 hitting percentage. First-year
Adelaide Grace recorded nine digs, three blocks, and two service aces.
Highlights:
- Bryn Mawr had a strong start in the opening set with six straight points. After three Green Terror errors, the Owls earned their strongest lead of the set at seven, 11-4. The Green Terror trailed until a kill by McDaniel Nia Roberts tied the set, 15-15. After four ties, McDaniel pulled ahead and won five straight rallies to earn the first set, 25-21. The set saw four Loller kills.
- The Owls took advantage of a handful of Green Terror errors and two kills by Loller for an early 5-2 lead in the second set. From there, both teams battled for the lead until Bryn Mawr gained a solid edge at 16-11 after a service ace by libero Charlotte Mullen. The Owls held the lead for seven more rallies until McDaniel tied the match, 18-18. The second set took a similar turn as the first, as the teams traded points back-and-forth until McDaniel tallied four straight kills and won the second set, 25-22.
- After a Bryn Mawr setback early in the final stanza, Loller once again proved herself as a strong offensive player with two straight kills to tie the set 2-2. Kills by senior Zoe Boxill and a service ace by Adelaide Grace kept the Owls in the set. Thanks to a McDaniel service ace, the Green Terror broke away for an eight-point lead, 18-10. The Owls recorded a final kill by Grace and service ace by Loller before the Green Terror closed the set, 25-14.
The Bryn Mawr volleyball program finishes their season with a 4-19 overall record, 0-10 in conference. Despite the results, the young Owls proved relentless, and the team is determined to improve their results in 2025. Bryn Mawr will graduate two seniors, Boxill and
