BRYN MAWR, PA – The Bryn Mawr volleyball team welcomed the Bullets of Gettysburg to the Class of 1958 Gymnasium in the Owls' final home match of the season. Prior to the match, the Owls celebrated seniors
Zoe Boxill and
Orli McGuire-Berk. Bryn Mawr took leads in both the second and third set, but the Gettysburg's defense held strong and refused to give up a single set for a 3-0 Bullets win.
Highlights:
- Boxill led the afternoon with 11 digs while junior captain Anna Dravk recorded 10 assists.
- The Bullets took an early 9-2 lead in the opening set. Boxill and first-year Owl Joelle Wise each recorded a kill and Omi Oliver tallied a service ace, but Gettysburg never gave up the lead and won the set, 25-9.
- Bryn Mawr finally found their footing in the second set and took their strongest lead of the day at 9-5. The teams traded five ties until the Bullets recorded three straight kills for a solid five-point lead. Sophomore Emma Loller tallied four kills for the Owls before the Bullets won the set, 25-20.
- The Owls took advantage of a handful of Gettysburg errors at the start of the final stanza to gain a 5-4 lead. From there, the score remained close as the teams once again traded leads before Gettysburg solidified a strong lead after winning 10 straight rallies. The Bullets allowed the Owls two more points, but their lead proved overwhelming, and Gettysburg won the third and final set, 25-13.
