BRYN MAWR, PA – The Bryn Mawr volleyball team welcomed the Garnet of Swarthmore to the Class of 1958 Gymnasium Wednesday evening for a Centennial Conference match. The Owls made a valiant effort against a strong offensive Garnet, but Swarthmore earned the win, 3-0.
Highlights:
- Junior captain Anna Dravk led the Owls with 11 set assists and seven digs while first-year Adelaide Grace led with eight kills.
- Bryn Mawr started off strong to keep the first set close at 6-6, but Swarthmore's powerful offense grabbed the next six points for a decisive lead. Dravk collected a late set service ace and the Owls continued to fight until the Garnet took the set, 25-19.
- Swarthmore grabbed an early lead in the second set at 11-2, but an Owl kill by Elise Perry stunted the Garnet's advancement. The teams traded rallies back and forth until Swarthmore made a late run with eight straight points to win the set, 25-11.
- The Garnet offense proved to overwhelm the Owls as Swarthmore earned an early 9-0 lead. First-years Grace and Zara Kepler recorded four and three kills respectively before the Garnet closed the set and match, 25-14.
Bryn Mawr volleyball will travel to Lancaster, PA on Saturday, October 12
