Soccer Falls to Haverford Wednesday Afternoon

HAVERFORD, PA- The Owls traveled to Haverford College on Wednesday for a 4:00 PM game against the Fords. Bryn Mawr faced an impressive offensive Haverford team, and dropped the Centennial Conference match-up, 4-0.

Highlights:

  • In the opening 45 minutes of gameplay, Bryn Mawr maintained a defensive position against the Fords. In the first five minutes, Haverford took four shots however the Owls staved off their offensive attack.

  • First-year goalkeeper Maeve Slemko saved a Haverford shot at 5:19. The Fords recorded 27 shots throughout the match-up. In the fury of shots, Slemko recorded seven saves for the Owls, four in the first half alone.

  • Bryn Mawr looked to find their offensive flow to start the second half. At 46:24, captain Daniela Dosen sent a ball downfield from midfield to sophomore forward Rece Anton. Anton juked a Haverford defender and took a shot inside the box which was saved by the Fords' goalkeeper.

  • Bryn Mawr's defense stayed strong throughout the game. The Owls blocked four Haverford shots on the day.
