Soccer Recognizes Faculty and Staff in Final Game of Season

BRYN MAWR, PA - Bryn Mawr soccer played their final game of the season Saturday afternoon on Applebee Field against the visiting Red Devils of Dickinson College. Prior to the game, Bryn Mawr celebrated faculty and staff members who impacted soccer scholar-athletes in a meaningful way. The Owls faced an aggressive Red Devils squad and fell, 2-1.

Highlights:

  • Dickinson caught the Owls on their back feet to open the game. The Red Devils scored within the first two minutes on the pitch and put Bryn Mawr down, 1-0.

  • In the first half, first-year goalie Maeve Slemko made five saves to keep the Owls within striking distance.

  • Down 2-0 going into the second half, Bryn Mawr looked to respond to the Red Devils.

  • The Red Devils took five shots in the opening minutes of the second half, but none connected. A Dickinson foul at 66:06 proved exactly what Bryn Mawr needed as sophomore midfielder Rece Anton scored on the penalty kick to bring in an Owls goal.

  • Owls' goalkeeper Kamonlak Pliwma played in net for the entirety of the second half. Dickinson's offense proved unrelentless, but Pliwma recorded six saves and staved off a third Dickinson goal. The one goal lead was enough for a Red Devils win, 2-1.

The Owls close the 2024 season with four wins and three ties. The Bryn Mawr soccer program would like to extend heartfelt congratulations and thanks to senior captain Sarah Lohrey who will graduate in the spring of 2025.
