BRYN MAWR, PA - The Bryn Mawr volleyball team welcomed #3 nationally ranked Blue Jays of Johns Hopkins to the Class of 1958 Gymnasium earlier Saturday afternoon for a conference match-up during Owls Fest weekend. The Owls were relentless in their battle as they were cheered on by Owls fans, but a strong Johns Hopkins offense proved overwhelming and the Blue Jays won the match, 3-0.
Highlights:
- Junior captain Anna Dravk led the Owls with five set assists and five digs while junior Elise Perry led with eight kills.
- The Blue Jays had a strong start and took the first two sets with a hitting percentage of 0.65 in the first set and 0.5 in the second. Johns Hopkins won the first 25-10, and the second 25-9.
- The Owls found their way in the third set to take a 4-3 lead after kills by Emma Loller, Zoe Boxill, and Zara Kepler.
- The Blue Jays picked up their pace for a 18-8 lead, but the Owls were relentless as Charlotte Mullen recorded a service ace, and Loller and Perry each recorded a kill before the Blue Jays closed the match, 25-16.
