WESTMINSTER, Md. – The Bryn Mawr basketball team played their strongest Centennial Conference game of the season against the Green Terror of McDaniel earlier Saturday afternoon at the Gill Center. McDaniel led by eight after the first quarter, but the scoring remained even for the remaining quarters with the home team capturing a 56-48 win.
Highlights:
- Junior captain Jessica Smith scored a personal season-best and game-high of 19 points while first-year Michelle Jiang also scored in double digits with 11 points. Smith also led the game with three steals. McDaniel was led by Teya McConnaha with 17 points.
- Bryn Mawr shot 18-20 from the free throw line. The 90% rate is a season high for games in which they had over 10 attempts.
- The Owls outscored the Green Terror 13-10 in the final quarter.
- First-years Hannah Mack and Daphne Bracker-Sturm collected two blocks apiece for the Owls.
After an exciting an away competition, the Owls look forward to returning to campus for a non-conference home game against Cheyney University on Tuesday evening.
