Owls Remain Undefeated After First Away Game of the Season

Novy Goetgeluk ‘25 and Thekla Jubinville ‘24 led the Owls with two goals apiece in an 8-0 victory.

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. - The #18 nationally ranked Bryn Mawr field hockey program competed in their first away game of the season in a Wednesday evening match-up against Delaware Valley. The Owls' last game against the Aggies occurred last September, where the Owls emerged victorious, 2-0. Bryn Mawr's offense proved stronger than ever, as six different Owls scored on the day to earn their team an 8-0 win.

Highlights:
  • The Owls' struck first only four minutes into the first quarter. Eva Yacura '25 took a shot from inside the circle, but the Aggie's goalkeeper stepped outside of the cage to save it with her foot. Taking advantage of the open goal, Thekla Jubinville '24 hit a rebound shot into the back of the cage, her first goal of the season.
  • Only a minute after scoring their first goal, Bryn Mawr's offense returned for another shot, this time taken by Novy Goetgeluk '25, assisted by Izzy Robinson-Cloete '24. Goetgeluk would record one more goal in the third quarter.
  • Three more Owls also recorded their first goals of the season - Lauren Barlow '26, Reba Ervin '25, and Eva Yacura '25. Prior to the season, both Ervin and Yacura were named to the NFHCA Watchlist.
  • Bryn Mawr's defense proved nearly as relentless as their offense, refusing to allow Delaware Valley a single shot in the first and third quarters. The Aggies managed only three shots, two of which came in the fourth quarter.
Bryn Mawr remains undefeated with a 4-0 record and will remain on the road over the weekend with a Saturday game at Wesleyan University and a Sunday game at Williams College.
