BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr volleyball program made a roar at Tuesday evening's home match-up against Valley Forge. The Owls made early offensive moves to gain an 11-0 lead in the first set before quickly taking a 2-0 set lead. The Patriots kept the third set tight with a slight lead at 6-4, but the Owls made a smooth comeback and won the third set 25-13 to earn their first win of the season.
Highlights:
- As a team, the Owls led the Patriots with 23 kills and 30 digs.
- The Owls earned a string of 11 points in the beginning of the first set with the Patriots trailing 11-0. In the second set, the Owls recorded an even longer run with 15 points to bring the set score to 23-3.
- Individually, first-years Omi Oliver led the match with 18 set assists, Emma Loller led the match with seven kills, and Saya Feldman led the match with eight digs.
- Elise Perry '26 and Zoe Boxill '25 also recorded five kills.
- Paulina Espinosa '26 played in her first match with the Owls. The sophomore competed in all three sets and helped her team finish off their 15-point run in the second set.
- In the third set, the teams were neck-and-neck with the Patriots in the lead at 6-4. The Owls won the next nine of out 10 points for a six-point lead and maintained their lead until the very end.
- The Owls won 25-10, 25-6, 25-13.
The Owls are now 1-3 for the season and will return to the Class of 1958 Gymnasium on Friday for another evening match against Penn State Abington.
