HAVERFORD, Pa. – Graduate student
Nicole Lim had another exciting day as a new Owl as Bryn Mawr traveled to Haverford for a conference match-up earlier Wednesday afternoon. Lim won both her doubles and singles match, most notably winning her singles match against an NCAA qualifier. However, a tough win at fourth singles proved to be what the Fords needed and they won 7-2 to maintain their undefeated status in the Centennial Conference.
Doubles:
- Haverford refused to let up a single game against second doubles Wynn Bryant '24 and Lowrey West '25.
- Kelli Eng '26 and Macey Ellis '26 did not fair much better at third doubles, losing 8-1.
- However, the Fords were in for a surprise at first doubles against Nicole Lim and Fernanda Hurtado '25. After an Owls break at 6-6, Lim served for the match to earn Bryn Mawr their first win of the day (8-6).
Singles:
- Bryant was the first singles match to step off the court. Competing against Haverford Ellie Esterowitz for the second time on the day, the Ford took her second win against Bryant at second singles.
- Lim had another outstanding performance at first singles and won 6-3, 6-1 against NCAA qualifier Abbey Russano. The graduate student is now 3-1 in both singles and doubles with the Owls.
- Lowrey at third singles had a strong first set, losing in a tiebreak before dropping the second set (7-6, 6-0).
- After losing the first set, Hurtado at fourth singles gained momentum to make a comeback from 2-5 in the second set before losing (6-2, 6-4).
- Eng at fifth singles was next to step off the court. The first-year stayed consistent throughout the match, but was unable to manage the first set before falling 6-2 in the second.
- Ellis rounded out the day for the Owls at sixth singles and Haverford won 7-2.
Haverford moves to 6-5 while Bryn Mawr drops to 6-4.
The Owls will return on Saturday for another away conference game in Carlisle, Pa. against the Red Devils of Dickinson.
