NEW YORK, N.Y. – Sophomore Jess Johnson jumped a height of 5.21m in the long jump to wipe out the 2008 record by Kaushiki Dunusinghe (5.13m) at the TCNJ Winter Open on Saturday afternoon. 
 
Highlights

• First-year Ahlaam Musa became the first Owl of the indoor season to qualify for the Centennial Conference Championships. Musa ran a 10.96s in the 60m hurdle trials to give Bryn Mawr a strong start to the meet.
• Johnson's attempts in both the long jump (5.21m) and high jump (1.52m) also qualified for Conference Championships, while the sophomore's height in the high jump marked the top Centennial Conference height of the weekend.
• Two more Owls, first-year Molly Fancher and junior captain Kayla Camille also qualified for Conference Championships. Fancher reached a distance of 4.41m in the long jump while Camille produced a time of 8.70s in the 60 meter dash.
• Multiple Owls recorded personal records throughout the competition:
  • 60 meter dash: Fancher (8.92s), Musa (9.19s), Nethmi Dharmasena (9.82s), Lucy Sparks Mendez (10.33s)
  • 300 meter dash: Alex deLeuze (50.88s), Mendez (55.85s)
  • 600 meter dash: Anna Lowrance (2:12.71)
  • 1000 meter run: Cora Rosin (3:35.59), Ellie Schumacher (3:29.20), Megan McDonald (3:45.21)
  • 1 mile run: Evelyn Cheng (5:41. 61), Caroline Robertson (5:45.06), Ella Heipt (6:42.28)
  • Shot put: Ashlyn Darling (7.53m)
• The team of Roberston, Sofie Prieto, Sohini Sarkar, and Rosin (5:04.90) rounded out the season opener in the 4x4.

The Bryn Mawr indoor track & field team travel to Collegeville, Pa. next Friday to compete in the Bow Tie Invitational held at Ursinus.
