Bryn Mawr, PA - The Bryn Mawr basketball team fell 60-69 to Bryn Athyn in their home opener. The team now moves to 2-2 on the season while Bryn Athyn moves 2-1.
Junior Forward, #11
Hannah Binder, played a stellar game on both ends of the court. Binder sparked her team's momentum consistently throughout all four quarters while leading her team with 24 points and 6 defensive rebounds. She totaled eight rebounds throughout the game while also adding two assists. FIrst Year Guard, #23
Hannah Mack, also had a standout performance hitting all six of her free throws and leading her team in blocks with three.
Highlights:
- The Owls led the game twice in the first quarter. Binder got the lead three minutes into the game and Junior Guard, #13 Kris Pasia, put the Owls back on top with three minutes to go in the first.
- The Lions found their groove and started to pull away in the second quarter, leading the Owls by 18 with four minutes to go in the half. Bryn Mawr never backed down and got within 12 points to end the half.
- The third quarter started with the Owls trailing 24-36, but the Lions quickly hit a three pointer to widen the gap. Both team continued to battle and brought the score within ten to close the quarter.
- Junior Guard, #1 Jessica Smith, hit a jumper in the paint to open up the fourth quarter to bring the score to 38-46. The teams continued to exchange points through the quarter with the Lions taking a 17 point lead with only four minutes left in the game. The Owls never gave up and brought the final score to 60-69.
The team opens up conference play this Tuesday November 21st when they travel to fellow Bi-Co member, Haverford College for an 8pm start.
