BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Despite a strong first set from the Owls, the Bryn Mawr volleyball team fell to Franklin & Marshall, 3-0 (22-25, 15-25, 14-25), Saturday afternoon in the Class of 1958 Gymnasium.
Emma Loller led the Owls in kills once again with six on the day followed by fellow first-year
Saya Feldman with five.
Anna Dravk tallied 12 assists while
Omi Oliver recorded nine digs.
Highlights:
- The Owls gained a one-point lead in the opening stanza after winning four straight rallies to bring the score 5-4 in Bryn Mawr's favor.
- However, the Diplomats controlled the lead for the remainder of the set, but the Owls kept a close scoreboard before the visiting team took the first set 25-22.
- Franklin & Marshall came out swinging in the second set for an early 8-1 lead and went on to win the second set 25-15.
- Bryn Mawr kept a tight third set with four ties within the first 10 points.
- The Diplomats won the next 13 out of 16 points to gain a 10-point lead.
- The Owls stepped up their offensive game to win six straight rallies led by Micah Sheppard and a kill by Loller.
- Unfortunately, these would be the last points for the Owls as the Diplomats won the next seven rallies to finish the set 25-14.
Bryn Mawr moves to a 3-8 overall record, 0-2 in Conference, while Franklin & Marshall improves to 11-4 overall and 3-0 in Conference.
The Bryn Mawr volleyball team will travel to Allentown, Pa. Wednesday evening to compete in another Centennial Conference match-up against Muhlenberg.
