Red Devils Hold Field Hockey Scoreless

BRYN MAWR, Pa. - The Bryn Mawr Field Hockey team fell to Dickinson College 0-1 in a Centennial Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.  The Owls move to 6-5 on the season and 1-3 against conference matchups.

Highlights:
  • Bryn Mawr College and Dickinson College field hockey teams both fought in a competitive battle that remained scoreless until the 4th period.
  • The first quarter stayed evenly matched with each team taking one shot apiece.  The Red Devils came out hot in the second quarter firing off three shots and holding Bryn Mawr to zero, but the Owls' defense stayed strong and did not allow any of the shots in the goal.  Bryn Mawr answered back after half time by taking two shots and holding Dickinson to none while each team remained scoreless.  Each team took one shot in the final quarter.
  • The Red Devils found the back of the goal 48 minutes into the contest.  Dickinson senior forward and lead goal scorer, Abby Marthins, scored the single goal of the game unassisted.
  • Junior midfielder, Eva Yacura, worked to fire up the Owls' offense and took 3 of the team's 4 shots.
  • First Year goalkeeper, Peri Mulveny, came up with three stellar saves on the day.

The Owls will be back in action this Wednesday when they host local rival Haverford College.
