Owls Compete in Final Away Competition of the Season at Gettysburg

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr volleyball team travelled to Gettysburg on Saturday to compete in their final away match of the season. The Owls fought gallantly against the top team in the Centennial Conference, but the Bullets won 3-0 (25-5, 25-10, 25-12).

Sophomore Elise Perry led the Owls with six kills and recorded Bryn Mawr's lone block of the match while first-year setter Omi Oliver recorded nine assists and six digs.

The Bullets recorded an impressive .394 hitting percentage led by Kylie Ulrich with 11 kills. Ulrich also led Gettysburg with nine digs while Kendall Erpenbeck tallied 13 assists.

Highlights:
  • For the second match in a row, junior Zoe Boxill recorded the Owls' first kill of the day after the Bullets took a 5-0 lead.
  • Gettysburg Chelsea O'Leary tallied two service aces while the Bullets only totaled two errors the entire first set.
  • In the second set, the Owls took advantage of a rough start for the Bullets as the home team tallied five errors which resulted in a 6-6 tie.
  • From there, the Bullets recovered from their offensive struggles and won the next eight rallies.
  • Bryn Mawr battled it out with the Bullets in the final stanza to take an early 5-3 lead after a kill by junior libero Orli McGuire-Berk.
  • The Bullets would go on to gain the lead, but the Owls finished strong as Loller recorded a kill and service ace while Perry recorded a block to take 12 points off Gettysburg in the third set.
The Owls will return home for their final two matches of the season on November 1st and 4th.
