CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Bryn Mawr volleyball team traveled to Maryland on Wednesday to compete in an evening match against Washington College. Junior outside hitter
Zoe Boxill recorded the Owls' first kill of each set, but it was the Shorewomen who won the day, 3-0 (25-9, 25-13, 25-18).
Omi Oliver led the Owls with 14 assists while
Orli McGuire-Berk and
Saya Feldman each dished seven digs.
The Shorewomen were led by Angelina Schaber with 12 kills while Allison McKechnie dished 12 assists.
Highlights:
- Boxill, Feldman, and Micah Sheppard, each recorded six kills in the opening set for the Owls, but a .609 hitting percentage proved just what the Shorewomen needed as they took a 1-0 lead.
- Bryn Mawr kept a close second set in the opening points with a three rally run in which Feldman recorded a kill followed by am Elise Perry service ace.
- For the remainder of the set, it was Washington College who controlled the offense with Shorewomen Lindsay Saddic recording five kills.
- The Owls played their strongest set in the final stanza to take 18 points off the Shorewomen while only tallying a total of four errors.
The Owls will compete in their final away game of the season on Saturday against Gettysburg.
