Soccer Falls To Ursinus Bears in Close Contest

Collegeville, PA  - The Bryn Mawr Soccer Team fell 0-1 to the Ursinus College Bears on Saturday night.  The Owls now sit at 3-7-2 (0-6-1) while the Bears move to 5-6-3 (1-4-2).

Highlights:
  • The Bryn Mawr College defense played a fierce game defending 11 of Ursinus's 12 shots.  The team played cohesively with multiple players working together to thwart the opponents' rapid shots.  
  • Bryn Mawr goalkeeper, Aliya Stubenbord, came up with two big saves to keep the game within the team's reach.  
  • The lone goal of the game was scored 78 minutes into the contest by Ursinus Senior, Liv Morrow.  She scored a header off a corner kick giving Morrow her first goal of the season. 
  • The Owls worked to earn some beautiful scoring opportunities including a shot that was just inches above the goal with 11 minutes left in the first half.  
  • #7 Lourdes Sankar, #8 Sarah Lohrey, #12 Daniela Dosen, #16 Luna Sottile, #24 Ciara Grimes, and #26 Rece Anton all attempted to get the Owls on the board.
  • The Owls fought hard the full 90 minutes and kept shooting until the final minutes of the game when Lourdes Sankar gave everything she had to tie it up, but the Bears goalie came up with the save.  

The Owls hit the road on Wednesday to take on St. Mary's College of Maryland at 7pm.
