St. Mary's City of Maryland - The Soccer Team hit the road for the third time in a row when they traveled down to Maryland to take on non-conference opponent St Mary's College of Maryland. The Owls were unable to find the back of the net and fell to the Seahawks 0-2. This game brings the team to a 3-8-2 record. The Seahawks remain unbeaten for their last three games and move to a 5-6-3 record.
Highlights:
- The Owls outshot the Seahawks four to three, but were unable to get their shots on goal. The teams each got one shot apiece off in the first half of the contest. The Owls worked for three more scoring opportunities in the second half. SMC only took two shots in the rest of the game, but they were successful on both.
- Neither keeper made any stops throughout the contest.
- Bryn Mawr held SMC scoreless for the entire first half. SMC's Captain, Ashyln Bonner, scored the first goal of the game and her first goal of the season 46 minutes into the game. Another Seahawk Captain, Lily Mellendick, scored the second and final goal of the game with only 9 minutes left in the game off an assist from Chekesa Sife.
The Owls get back into Centennial Conference action this Saturday when they host Gettysburg College for a 1pm start. The team will be honoring their eight 2024 graduates before the contest.
