BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr volleyball team fell to Dickinson, 3-0 (25-11, 25-12, 25-13) Saturday afternoon in the Class of 1958 Gymnasium in a Centennial Conference match-up.
The Owls registered 18 kills led by
Elise Perry (8) and
Emma Loller (6) to pace Bryn Mawr's offense. Setter
Anna Dravk dished 13 assists while
Micah Sheppard added five digs. Perry also tallied a block at the net.
Highlights:
- The Owls took an early 4-0 lead in the opening set with a kill apiece by Perry and Sheppard before the Red Devils added to the scoreboard.
- Bryn Mawr maintained the lead 7-6, but Dickinson won the next 15 out of 16 rallies for a 13-point lead.
- Loller tallied two more kills along with a kill by Perry to stay in the set, but it was not enough as the Red Devils won the first set 25-11.
- The Owls opened the second set with an ace by Loller.
- Loller and Perry each recorded two kills, but the Owls struggled to maintain a consistent offense and Dickinson took a 2-0 lead.
- Bryn Mawr earned a 4-2 lead in the final stanza, but Dickinson's offense woke up and won the next 10 out of 11 points to retake the lead from the home team.
- Trailing by eight, the Owls' bounced back to minimize Dickinson's lead to three.
- This would be the last string of points for the Owls as the Red Devils limited Bryn Mawr to just two more points in the remainder of the set.
