BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Senior Nicolette Parmese ended her collegiate career with a bang as she scored 29 points and set a new school single game record with 25 rebounds on Senior Night Tuesday evening. Before the game, Parmese and her fellow seniors – Lucy Gleysteen and Elizabeth Jenkins – were honored for their hard work and dedication to the program during their tenure on campus.

As for the game, it was a see-saw affair until the visiting Valley Forge Christian Patriots rallied in the final five minutes of the game to win the non-conference showdown, 54-46.

Bryn Mawr took an early lead, 3-1, when junior Ashton Dwyer sank a long three-pointer as Bryn Mawr held onto the lead over the next 1:30. The Patriots tied the game with a Jerylin Ellis layup before pushing their lead to eight, 13-5, with 12:07 to play in the half. Bryn Mawr bounced back as they scored seven unanswered points to pull within one, 13-12, with just over five minutes to go in the half.

Over the final five minutes of the half, both teams' exchanged baskets as Gleysteen netted her first basket of the season at 3:59. Junior Holly Constants made a free throw and Parmese connected on a layup in the final 3 minutes of the half but the Patriots took a 20-17 lead into the half.

In the second half, Valley Forge led by as many of seven before Bryn Mawr pulled within two, 29-27, with three points from Parmese and two from sophomore Veronica Roux with under twelve minutes to play.

Valley Forge pushed their lead to 11 with just over seven minutes to play in the game. The Owls chipped away and pulled within five, the closest they got to the Patriots the remainder of the game, with 5:48 remaining on the clock.

Valley Forge held a 12-point lead, their largest of the game, with 2:22 left in the game before Bryn Mawr ended the game on an 8-4 run

Leading the Patriots was Mikala Brinson with 29 points and 13 rebounds.

In addition to Parmese's double-double, she tallied five blocks and one steal. Dwyer and Roux ended the night with five points each. Freshman Adriana Castilla-Hernandez grabbed 11 rebounds while Roux pulled-down 10.

Paremese ends her Bryn Mawr career by setting a new school record for career points with 1355 points. She became the all-time leader when the Owls took on Johns Hopkins earlier this month.

Bryn Mawr College President Kim Cassidy served as a guest coach tonight for the Owls.

As the game ended, so did the 2013-2014 season. The Owls finish the season 1-13 with their only win coming against Notre Dame of Maryland University in their second game of the season.
