Box Score 3 ASTON, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr College volleyball team spent the weekend at Neumann University for the annual Knights Invitational. The Owls went 1-3 over the two-day tournament.
In the weekends opening match against PSU-Berks as the Nittany Lions posted a 3-0 (25-13, 25-21, 25-18) win. Leading the way offensively for the Owls was freshman Rachel Ofili with seven kills. Classmates Sarah Gates and Miriam Doepner added five and four kills, respectively. Sophomore co-captain Danielle Preziuso added 18 assists as Ofili added four total blocks.
On Saturday the Owls went 1-2. In the day's first match, Bryn Mawr fell to Wesley 3-2 (23-25, 25-17, 25-20, 14-25, 15-11) before falling to Widener 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-11). In the tournament's final match for Bryn Mawr, the Owls went the distance with Immaculata en route to pulling out a 3-2 (25-19, 14-25, 21-25, 25-15, 15-7) win.
Against Wesley, the Owls were led by Ofili with 14 kills. She added 15 digs and seven total blocks. Freshman Zoe Holman and Preziuso combined for 28 assists with Holman handing out a team-best 15.
In the afternoon match against Widener, it was Ofili again leading the4 Owls' attack with eight kills. Sophomore Ellen Chiu added five kills while Preziuso dished out 12 assists.
In the weekend's final match, Bryn Mawr went the distance against Immaculata by edging the Mighty Macs in the final set. Freshman Noemi Moreno led the Owls with 10 kills as Chiu and Ofili added nine and eight, respectively. Preziuso totaled 16 assists as Holman chipped-in with 12.
Bryn Mawr is back to action on Tuesday, Sept. 18, when they play host to Cabrini at 7:00 pm.
