Bryn Mawr Tennis Closes Season with Doubleheader Sweep on Senior Day

BRYN MAWR, PA – The Bryn Mawr College tennis team closed out the 2024-25 season in dominant fashion on Sunday, earning a pair of 6-1 wins over Gettysburg and McDaniel. The day was especially historic, as the victory over Gettysburg marked the program's first-ever win against the Bullets. Before the matches, the Owls celebrated their three seniors, Fernanda Hurtado Mariscal, Lilly Pfister, and Lowrey West.

Gettysburg Highlights:
  • Bryn Mawr secured the opening team point by winning two out of the three doubles matches. At No. 2 doubles, West and Kelli Eng earned a 6-2 win, followed by a tight 7-6 victory at No. 3 doubles from first-years Claire Emanuel and Carina Roberts.
  • Seniors West and Hurtado Mariscal were the first off the court in singles, each posting 6-3, 6-3 wins at No. 2 and No. 3 singles respectively.
  • Eng added another point for the Owls at No. 4 singles with a 6-2, 7-5 victory.
  • Junior captain Sophie Fenster clinched the match for Bryn Mawr with a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles.
  • Emanuel rounded out the match with a comeback victory at No. 5 singles, winning 3-6, 6-0, 10-5 in a third-set tiebreak.
McDaniel Highlights:
  • Bryn Mawr swept doubles play against McDaniel with new pairings. Seniors Hurtado Mariscal and West earned a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles, while Pfister and Taliah Thomas won 6-1 at No. 2 doubles. Macey Ellis and Jill Hohmann secured a 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles.
  • Eng made quick work at No. 2 singles, posting a 6-0, 6-0 shutout.
  • Hohmann followed with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles, and Ellis added a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 4 singles.
  • Pfister closed out her collegiate career with a strong 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles.
  • Thomas capped the day with a comeback win at No. 5 singles, rallying for a 4-6, 6-2, 10-6 victory.
