CARLISLE, PA – Bryn Mawr tennis put up a strong fight on the road against Centennial Conference opponent Dickinson College earlier Tuesday. The Owls dominated doubles play, sweeping all three matches, but ultimately fell 4-3 after a tough round of singles competition.
Highlights:
- The doubles teams set the tone early, securing a commanding 3-0 lead. The No. 1 pair, Sophie Fenster and Fernanda Hurtado Mariscal, delivered a convincing set to take a 6-2 victory. At No. 2 doubles, Kelli Eng and Lowrey West fought through a competitive 6-4 win, while Claire Emanuel and Carina Roberts rounded out the sweep with a dominant 6-4 performance at No. 3. doubles.
- Despite the early advantage, Dickinson found its rhythm in singles play, winning four of the six matches.
- Emanuel (No. 5 singles) and Roberts (No. 6 singles) picked up crucial wins for the Owls with respective scores of 7-6, 6-0 and 6-2, 4-6, 10-6.
- Senior Lilly Pfister and junior Gioanna Zhao each played exhibition matches against the Red Devils in both doubles and singles.
