SALISBURY, MD – The Bryn Mawr tennis team hit the road for a tough matchup against Salisbury on Monday afternoon. Despite the final scoreline of 9-0, the Owls put up a fight in both singles and doubles against a strong opponent. 

Highlights: 

• In doubles play, the duo of Claire Emanuel and Carina Roberts came closest to securing a win and closed in on their Salisbury opponents deep into the match. The first-year No. 3 doubles partners fought to the end before falling, 7-5.  

• Sophie Fenster and Lowrey West also put up a valiant effort at No. 1 doubles, but Salisbury came out on top, 6-2. 

• On the singles side, Emanuel put together a hard-fought match at No. 4 singles, battling into a deciding set tiebreak before narrowly losing 6-3, 4-6, 10-4.  

• Gioanna Zhao also put up a strong second-set fight at No. 6, but ultimately fell 6-1, 7-5. 

• At No. 5 singles, Roberts pushed into extras during the first set, however fell behind 7-5, 6-1.
