BRYN MAWR, PA – The 22

th ranked Lynchburg, 4-1, Sunday afternoon at Shillingford Field. The game marks the team's first top ten ranked win in program history and only sixth ever ranked win in program history.
Prior to the start of the game, Bryn Mawr welcomed former Bryn Mawr coach and athletic director Jenepher Shillingford to the field for the rededication ceremony of Shillingford Field.
Highlights:
- The Owls came out strong with their first goal at 0:32 into the game. Senior Hazel Miller sliced her way through the Lynchburg defense and found sophomore Ilona Bender on the back post to tap in for her second goal of the season. Today was the first game this season in which Bryn Mawr opened the scoring.
- First-year Leya Patel scored her first career goal with the Owls near the close of the opening quarter. Again, it was Miller working through several Lynchburg defenders, and Patel connected on a bouncing cross in the center of the goal, deflecting the ball over the Lynchburg keeper's left shoulder to make the score 2-0.
- Miller's assist is the 17th of her career, tying her for 2nd in program history with Alex Willens, who played from 1983-85.
- Lynchburg started to find its footing in the second quarter, earning six penalty corners and firing three shots before Lynchburg Allie Freeman connected to get the Hornets on the scoreboard, 2-1.
- Bryn Mawr regained the two-goal advantage less than two minutes before halftime. Yacura capitalized on a penalty corner, firing direct into the back of the cage off an assist from Jasmine Peterson, to make the score 3-1.
- Bryn Mawr wasted no time in the third quarter as Reba Ervin scored the Owls' fourth and final goal at 31:03 off a pass by Bender, accelerating through the center of the field and firing home on her first touch in the circle.
- Junior Charlene Basque recorded a season-high seven saves in the win.
