Strong Effort for Owls in Day One of Gettysburg Invitational

GETTYSBURG, PA – The Bryn Mawr swim team put forth a strong showing on the opening day of the Gettysburg Invitational, competing against fellow Centennial Conference teams Gettysburg and Dickinson, as well as non-conference opponents Scranton, Montclair State, and Shippensburg. The Owls demonstrated depth and determination across a variety of events.

Highlights:
  • The Owls kicked off the meet with a 10th-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The Bryn Mawr relay team of Dalia Ibrahim, Jane Farrell, Maddie Sullivan, and Ellie Berry posted a time of 1:43.45, securing a spot in the program's Top-10 times for the event.
  • In the 500-yard freestyle, first-year Ella Cohn delivered an outstanding performance to finish 10th with a time of 5:27.90, earning a place in the Top-10 times for Bryn Mawr in the event.
  • Farrell led the Owls in the 200-yard individual medley, clocking a personal-best time of 2:19.83. Adrianna Porter Meachem followed with her own personal record of 2:38.51. Other Owls in the event included Mina Rothberg (2:23.40) and Emma Rideout-Mann (2:33.28).
  • Berry posted the Owls' top finish in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing with a time of 25.27. Sullivan followed closely behind, recording a personal-best time of 26.15.
  • In the 400-yard medley relay, the Bryn Mawr team of Shelby Jackson, Sullivan, Farrell, and Berry capped the day with a remarkable performance. Their time of 4:11.60 not only secured a personal record but also broke their own seventh-place best time in program history, previously set in November at Ursinus.
Bryn Mawr will be back in action tomorrow at 10 AM EST for Day Two of the Gettysburg Invitational.
