NEWVILLE, PA – The Bryn Mawr cross country team placed eighth in the Centennial Conference Championships earlier Saturday held at Big Spring High School.
Highlights:
- Lauren Kitay (23:52) continues to lead the Owls on a successful 2024 season. Kitay finished 29th overall, marking the highest finish by an Owl since Kate Edwards in 2017.
- The next four owls of Sofie Prieto (25:27), Malin Just (25:30), Rosa Carbon (25:38), and Eva Ackley (25:55) all broke 26 minutes for the first time on the challenging course at Big Spring High School. These times mark some of the fastest all-times by Owls on the Big Spring course.
- Cora Rosin and Alyson Bostrom rounded out the Owls' top seven. Their respective times of 26:24 and 26:49 earned these two Owls a course personal record.
- The rest of the pack, including Sally Jamrog (27:16), Sohini Sarkar (28:16), Lena Arany (28:22), Mckayla Reyer (28:47), and Emma Smirk (30:15) all set course PRs as well.
The Owls will return to action on Nov. 16th for the NCAA Metro Regional Championships, with another shot at Centennial Conference rival, Ursinus, and a chance to stake claim to a top 10 finish in the Region.
