Soccer Sweeps Penn State Abington 4-0

Daniela Dosen scores Owls' second goal off a penalty kick.

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – A goal at the start of the second half by Daniela Dosen '26 helped lift the Bryn Mawr soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Penn State Abington on Tuesday afternoon at Applebee Field. Dosen, a sophomore from Annandale, Va., logged her second goal of her career off a penalty kick.

Highlights:
  • The game established an early theme of offensiveness, with 10 shots from the Owls in the first 20 minutes of the game.
  • At 32:38, Ciara Grimes '27 found the Owls' first goal with an assist by fellow first-year Rece Anton. This would be Grimes's first goal of her career and Anton's first career assist.
  • Dosen secured the Owls' second goal off a penalty kick at 47:54 as she kept it low into the left corner of the net.
  • Sophia Kearns '27 scored the Owls' third goal at 75:00 on the clock. Kearns maneuvered around Penn State Abington's goalkeeper Rachel Wilfrid as the Nittany Lion stepped out of the net to find the second goal of her career.
  • Ariel Shultz '24 rounded out Bryn Mawr's scoreboard only two minutes later. Grimes looked to shoot, but a Nittany Lion blocked her. Following behind her teammate, Shultz stepped in and rebounded it into the back of the goal.
The Owls improved to a 3-4-1 record for the season, and goalkeeper Natalia Chorzepa earned her third shutout of the season.

Up next, the Owls will return to Conference play as they travel to Johns Hopkins on Saturday morning for a 12:00 PM kickoff time.
