The 2023 Lacrosse Team Enters into the College Record Book as They Wrap Their Season

Elizabeth Tompkins holds the school record for the lowest career goals against average (10.32)

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Bryn Mawr lacrosse program closed their 2023 season earlier Saturday afternoon in a home game against #10 Franklin and Marshall. The team's defense held strong in the first quarter and only allowed the Diplomats one goal. Yet, Franklin and Marshall's offense eventually took control and scored eight goals in the second quarter. This proved to be the deciding factor of the game as Franklin and Marshall went on to score an additional eight goals to win 17-1. Despite the score, the Owls never gave up the fight and once again proved their resilience.

The lacrosse team will graduate 10 seniors in May: Riley Alexander, Claire Britton, Paige Britton, Maya DiFrischia, Sloan Johnson, Morgan Nash, Meghan O'Shea, Natalie Peterson, Sophie Sangster, and Elizabeth Tompkins.

The entire 2023 team will also live forever in the program's school records as they broke the College record for the most points in a single season (224) and most assists in a single game (17). The team also holds Top-10 spots in various other categories:

  • Season draw controls (171)
  • Season caused turnovers (139)
  • Season game winning goals (6)
  • Season free position goals (31)

  • Most points in a single game (29)
  • Most saves in a single game (24)
  • Most draw controls in a single game (22)
  • Most free position goals in a single game (6)
Additionally, a few Owls now hold individual spots in the College record book.

She also holds Top-10 spots in categories such as career saves (231), career save percentage (.520), season save percentage (.554), season goals against average (10.79), and the most wins in a single season (5). Today the senior tallied 23 saves to also break into the Top-10 for the most saves in a single game.
