In their first conference game of the season the Owls put in a hard fight Saturday against Johns Hopkins. Facing off against the fifth ranked team in the country, Bryn Mawr put up a solid effort, but ultimately lost by a score of 6-0. Owls' goalkeepers Natalia Chorzepa and Emma Ryan were the heroes of the day with an impressive 17 saves throughout the game.

The Blue Jays were aggressive right out of the gate, but Chorzepa made a nice save within the first seven minutes of the game to give Bryn Mawr a bit of hope. Unfortunately for the Owls, the Blue Jays scored their first goal just seconds later and ultimately tacked on four more in the first half. Chorzepa made nine more saves in the half and the Owls worked hard, but Johns Hopkins ultimately took a 5-0 lead at half time.

After being down 0-5 at the end of the first half, it was clear that the Owls were not willing to give up without a fight. Bryn Mawr returned to the field for the second half with the goal of putting more pressure on the Blue Jays' defense. The Owls fought until the very last second, eager to get on the scoreboard. Unfortunately, for the Owls the buzzer went off just as Daniela Dosen and Luna Sottile met the ball at the midfield prepared to build one more attack on the Johns Hopkins' goal. In the end, the Blue Jays added one more goal in the second half to finish the game 6-0.

Next week, Bryn Mawr will compete in three games throughout the week, starting with a non-conference home game against Rowan University on Monday before returning to conference matchups against Ursinus and McDaniel.
