The Owls traveled to Swarthmore Wednesday evening to play in their penultimate game of the regular season. The result of the night's game was crucial, as a Bryn Mawr win would secure the Owls' spot at third seed heading into the conference playoffs.

Bryn Mawr opened the first quarter aggressively, taking five shots in the first eleven minutes. However, Swarthmore goalkeeper Cassandra Conklin held strong against the relentless Owls.  Only a minute into the game, Eva Yacura took the first shot of the night. Although it was blocked, Yacura returned a minute and a half later with another shot, but again, it was blocked. Bryn Mawr's third scoring opportunity came seven minutes later after a penalty corner taken by Paige Schaeffer. Novy Goetgeluk received Schaeffer's corner, but Swarthmore's goalie was ready and made the save. Play continued for another minute until Kate Ervin tried her hand at getting the Owls on the scoreboard, but Conklin refused to let it pass.

With less than five minutes remaining, it seemed as if Conklin had stymied the Owls' offense. However, after a Garnet foul, Hazel Miller gained possession of the ball. Miller turned to Goetgeluk, who quickly tapped a pass to Yacura. At the top of the circle, Yacura flicked a shot towards the net, but it ricocheted off a Garnet stick to a perfectly waiting Ervin. Ervin quickly noticed that the goalkeeper stepped out from the goal, so she shot the ball behind Cornlick and straight into the back of the net. Leading 1-0, the Owls made two additional shots throughout the rest of the quarter but could not manage another goal.

Eva Yacura made Bryn Mawr's second goal less than six minutes into the second quarter. Paige Schaeffer took a penalty corner for the Owls at 15:39. Eyeing her teammate, Schaeffer passed the ball to Yacura. As the Garnets charged forward, Yacura smashed the ball by them. Sailing past every Swarthmore player, it landed in the back of the net, extending the Owls' lead to two. Swarthmore maintained possession of the ball for the remainder of the quarter but was unable to get past Maggie Titus at goal.

The Garnets made six shots throughout the third quarter, but Maggie Titus refused to let Swarthmore score. She demonstrated her goalkeeping skills throughout the quarter, making multiple difficult saves to maintain the Owls' lead. The third quarter ended without a goal from either team.

The Owls returned in the fourth quarter with a shot less than three minutes into the final frame of the game. Kate Ervin made two shots in quick succession, but neither went past Conklin. Three minute later, Hazel Miller also made two shots, but both were again blocked. With only ten minutes remaining, Schaefer took a penalty corner. Eva Yacura received the pass and quickly returned it to Schaefer. Several quick passes drew the Swarthmore goalkeeper from the net, clearing the way for Miller to take a shot with only a single Garnet defender standing in her way. The Garnet defender could not handle the shot and it trickled in for the Owls' third and final goal of the night.

In the final minutes, Swarthmore attempted to close the gap with a number of offensive possessions, but the Owls' defense proved impenetrable. The Owls claimed a 3-0 win to officially clench the third seed in the conference playoffs.

Bryn Mawr will play against Johns Hopkins on Saturday in the Owls' last regular season game.
