Dickinson Pushes Past Soccer

Box Score

CARLISLE, Pa. – Ellie Nordwind tapped home a cross in the 30th minute and the Dickinson Red Devils limited the Bryn Mawr soccer team to three shots en route to a 4-0 victory on Saturday.

The Red Devils sit third in the Centennial Conference standings and improve to 7-5-2, 4-1-2 in Centennial play, while the Owls drop to 1-10-2, 0-7 in Conference.

Nordwind found herself all alone at the right post as Meg Tate turned to her left foot and delivered a cross in front of Bryn Mawr goalkeeper Emma Ryan.  She deflected the ball first time with her right foot, and it caromed off the post and into the netting for the 1-0 lead.

Late in the half, the frame was again unkind to Bryn Mawr.  Off a Dickinson corner, the ball caromed off a Red Devil head onto the crossbar, before it was turned home on the ensuing scramble by Sarah Cudmore.

Two goals in under two minutes in the second half sealed the game for the homestanders.  First it was Emma Cooney finishing a flicked-on header by Katie Vassilakos as she slotted home past a charging Ryan.

Capping the scoring was Tate, the fifth-leading goal scorer all time for Dickinson, as she pounded home her own rebound into the side netting to the right of Ryan, who also made six saves for the Owls.

Paige Mastripolito and Daniela Dosen generated much of the attack on the afternoon for Bryn Mawr with all three of the Owls' attempts at goal.

Bryn Mawr returns to action on Wednesday, traveling to Bi-Co neighbor Haverford for a 4 PM kick.
